As this is our first attempt, this is an achievement that we are proud of. Most importantly, the learning so far had been invaluable and the journey must continue to bring our Functional Leaders to State and National level. It had been an enriching experience for all the team members and going forward, this team shall be the role model to our Functional Leaders and it is our aspiration that it will bring our Functional Leaders to the next level and ascertain where we are against other industries. Acidchem won the Anugerah Industri Komoditi (Commodity Industry Award) 2007
Acidchem International Sdn Bhd has done it again, this time winning the Anugerah Industri Komoditi, Kategori Kilang 2007 (Commodity Industry Award, Manufacturing category) for the Best-in-industry commodity manufacturing company in Malaysia. Being the winner of the Palm Industry Award, Acidchem represented the palm industry in this award that saw Best-in-class representatives from the various commodity industries that includes rubber, timber, cocoa, pepper and tobacco.

The award is organized by the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities.

Acidchem the Pioneer and Best-In-Class Oleochemical Company in Malaysia 2006
Acidchem International Sdn Bhd has won the inaugural award for the Anugerah Industri Sawit (Palm Industry Award) for the Best-in-class palm-based oleochemical company in Malaysia. This award is one of the prestigious awards accorded by the MPOB (Malaysian Palm Oil Board). The award and the winner’s plaque were received by our Executive Director Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor in an elaborated dinner cum award presentation ceremony in December 2006. Winning is so much meaningful when we were pitched against the industry players many of them who are multinational companies (MNCs) or associated with MNCs. We were the only few wholly-owned Malaysian company that was amongst the short listed companies.

All of the palm-based oleochemical companies in Malaysia were viable to participate in the award. Out of a total of 13 viable oleochemical companies only 5 were short listed. The short listed companies were audited by 4 senior research officers from Advanced Oleochemical Technology Division (AOTD, the oleochemical arm of MPOB). On hand to receive the auditing team is our staff from various functions headed by our Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Tan Kean Hua.

Acidchem has been selected as one of the finalist of the Corporate Awards for the Six Codes of Management Practices (Oleochemical category)
The final selection process would involve site audits and auditors appointed by the CICM Responsible Care Awards 2006 Technical Committee.
